This past weekend we moved into our apartment in Fremantle. WOO-HOO! Yes, finally we have a space to ourselves, albeit a smal one, but it provides everything we need and not much else. hehe I've taken some pics but seeing as how we just got our internet hooked up I need to spend some time online reading useless blogs and facebooking. (Is that even a word? I've seen it used before but I hate turning nouns into verbs.) Right now half of the apartment is organized and the other half looks like a an explosion went off. Tuesday was Australia Day and for those of you who don't celebrate it, shame on you. Mark your Google Calendar for next year.
The beginning is almost here. We're just a few days away from moving into our new apartment in Fremantle. I'm very excited to move in and finally settle down. Renting this room has been convenient and everything, but I'm still living out of the suitcases and trying my hardest to not make too much noise. The job hunting has been going well I suppose. No leads yet. I've been reading Guns, Germs, and Steel. This book is blowing my mind! (Especially the chapter on Almonds.)
Its Saturday January 9th and I'm coming to you from Perth, Australia! We arrived about 5 days ago and have been getting our new life together ever since. We're renting a room for the moment while we apartment hunt (which is going pretty well) and hoping to get ol' Bruce a job soon. Its summertime here in Perth which means walk in the shady spots! Until we get internet set up in our new apartment all these updates will be coming from a computer cafe in downtown Perth. A bank of desktops line the walls with people from all over the world trying to play Farmville on Facebook. A few days ago I sat beside a German guy who was watching some ridiculous show on YouTube that looked like a Russian version of "The Office". Needless to say he was laughing his butt off the entire time. I didn't see the humor in it at all. We hope everyone is doing well back home and look here for more updates soon.
